  Leather panels designed by C R Ashbee Leather panels with embossed and tooled decoration, coloured and gilded, designed by C R Ashbee and made by the Guild of Handicraft in 1892. This type of leatherwork had the same immediate appeal as Arts & Crafts copper and brass repoussé work. Tooled leather work was a relatively easy skill for beginners to master.
