Hand-blown and part mould-blown white-wine glasses designed by Philip Webb about 1862-3 and made by James Powell & Sons. Arts & Crafts designers emphasised the fluid quality of molten glass by simple solid designs.
Designers such as Harry Powell experimented with the use of coloured and opalescent glass as an alternative to cut and engraved decoration. This goblet has gold inserts in the blue streaked bowl. It was designed by Harry Powell in about 1895 for James Powell & Sons, Whitefriars, London.
