The Midlands and the Lake District
|
| |
This trail heads to Birmingham, Leicester and Wolverhampton, and then on to the Lake District.
The Birmingham Group, a loose association of teachers at the Birmingham Art School in the 1890s, created Arts & Crafts mural decorations, book illustrations, embroideries and enamellings. They received many local commissions including the outstanding chapel at Madresfield Court. Some of their work as well as that of other Arts & Crafts designers and artists are featured in this tour.
