New Series of Collections Unwrapped Talks starting 27th September

The Friends of Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum are continuing their programme of regular monthly talks designed to stimulate and maintain interest in the famous Cheltenham Collections.  The second series starts this autumn given by nationally known experts and inspired by Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum’s Arts and Crafts Movement collections. These include Ray Leigh on Gordon Russell, Alan Crawford on C R Ashbee, and the series kicks off on 27th September with A personal top ten by Mary Greensted. Mary was formerly curator of the Arts and Crafts collections at Cheltenham and is well known as a writer and speaker on the Movement.

The talks are on Thursday evenings at the Queens Hotel, starting at 6.00 with a complimentary glass of wine, with the talk from 6.30 to 7.30. Tickets at £8 for Friends, £9 for non-friends are on sale at the Tourist Information Centre in the Promenade in advance and also on the door. All proceeds go to the Friends for their continuing support of the Art Gallery & Museum’s development.

The spring series all focus on the new development Building for a new future and the collections that will be on show in the new displays.
