Collections Unwrapped talk 2 February: Arts and Crafts Artists

During the current closure of Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum, the Friends of the Art Gallery & Museum are hosting a regular monthly series of talks designed to stimulate and maintain interest in the many aspects of the famous Cheltenham collections.

These talks will be given by past and present curators and other acknowledged experts.  They will be held on the first Thursday of each month and will take place in the Regency Room at the Queen's Hotel, Imperial Square, Cheltenham, GL50 1NN.

This month's talk is by Museum Guide Michael Storm, and is entitled Artists of the Arts & Crafts Movement.  This talk will discuss a selection of artists such as F L Griggs, William Rothenstein and E H New, all with regional connections, most represented in the Gallery's collections, whose work in various ways reflects the values and attitudes of the Arts and Crafts Movement.

Each evening will start at 6.00pm with a complimentary glass of wine.  The illustrated talk will start at 6.30pm and the evening will conclude by 7.30pm.

Tickets, £7.00 for Friends and £8.00 for non-Friends, are on sale at the Tourist Information Office, The Promenade, tel. 01242 522878, in advance, and also on the door, numbers permitting.
