FAQs

Can I see the works on this website in person?

Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum is currently closed for the building of a new extension. The Arts and Crafts Movement galleries are being refurbished as part of this new development.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused. It is expected that the Art Gallery & Museum will reopen in 2013 when our planned Building a New Future project is completed. Please see our Building for a New Future section for details on the new development and the new Arts and Crafts galleries.

We regret that during the period of closure we cannot accomodate students and researchers consulting the collection.  This is due to collections being in storage for the duration of the closure period.  We apologise for any inconvenience.  The collections will be available again for study when the Art Gallery & Museum reopens.

If you do have an enquiry about the collections please contact Kirsty Hartsiotis, Curator, Decorative Arts and Designated Collection on 01242 775712 or kirsty.hartsiotis@cheltenham.gov.uk.

Enquiries to the Curator during closure

We regret we are unable to provide an enquiry service until September 2011 while the curatorial team is involved in decanting the museum collections and preparing for the new development.  Our regular enquiry service will restart in September.

Please note that we will not be able to process any reproduction enquiries until September 2011.  We regret collections currently in store are not available to visitors since packing has started in preparation for closure, and for this reason no new photography of collections will be possible until the Art Gallery & Museum reopens.
